Cameron offers Summer Food Service Program to Upward Bound participants


Cameron University is participating in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Meals will be provided to all eligible children free of charge. To be eligible to receive free meals at a residential or non-residential camp, such as Cameron’s Upward Bound program, children must meet the income guidelines for reduced-price meals in the National School Lunch Program. Children who are part of households that receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, benefits under the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations, or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families are automatically eligible to receive free meals. Acceptance and participation requirements for the Summer Food Service Program and all activities are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.


CU honors outstanding English composition writers


The Cameron University English program honored its outstanding writers with receptions at CU’s main campus in Lawton as well as at Cameron University-Duncan. The events honor outstanding English composition English composition students from the current academic year (Summer 2023, Fall 2023, Spring 2024).


Cameron elementary education student, Air Force veteran named DaVinci Scholar


Cameron University senior Kimberly Scalberg, an elementary education major from Elgin, has been named a DaVinci Scholar by The DaVinci Institute, a private partnership of leaders in higher education across Oklahoma. One of three DaVinci Scholars selected in the state, she will receive a monetary award from The DaVinci Institute in her first year of teaching in Oklahoma.
