Open Records procedure for Cameron University

Cameron University understands the need for public transparency and embraces the concept that people have an inherent right to know and be fully informed about their public institutions. In responding to requests, the university follows guidelines outlined in the Freedom of Information Act, the Oklahoma Open Records Act, the Solomon Amendment and the federal Family Education Rights and Privacy Act, also known as FERPA.

Cameron University partners with our sister institutions, Rogers State University and the University of Oklahoma, to respond to open records requests. Individuals or groups that would like to submit a records request can do so by clicking here:

This link will take you to a site hosted on the University of Oklahoma website through which you can formally request information from our institution. You will be asked to describe your request and provide contact information for a response. The site also gives clear instructions on how to submit your request in order to obtain the information as efficiently as possible. Please note that although the site indicates this is for OU records requests only, Cameron University and Rogers State University requests will also be honored. We recommend that, to avoid confusion, you explicitly state in your request that you are seeking Cameron University information. Please make your request as specific as possible.

Please be aware that this site is NOT for transcript requests or student records requests. For those, please contact the Office of the Registrar at Cameron University at registrar@cameron.edu, or by phone at 580-581-2238.

In accordance with Oklahoma law, Cameron University reserves the right to recover the actual cost of record search and copying, including labor, if the information is not readily available and/or requires an extended amount of research and recovery. If this is the case with your request, you will be provided an estimate before any work begins.

Also, please note that the university is not required by law to compile an entirely new record in response to a request.
