The Cameron University Department of Art, Music, and Theatre Arts continues its 2025-26 season, “Resilience and Reverie,” with Ian Johnston’s 2005 translation of “Antigone,” the classic Greek tragedy by Sophocles. The production will be presented from Thursday, November 20, through Sunday, November 23, in the Black Box Theatre (located inside the University Theatre.) The curtain goes up on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Cameron University’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CU BJJ) Club proudly represented the university at the Southwest Conference Championships, hosted by the National Collegiate Grappling Association (NCGA) at Sam Houston State University on October 25. The event brought together top collegiate grappling teams from across the region — including competitors from The University of Texas, Texas A&M, and Sam Houston State University — to compete in both men’s and women’s divisions.
The Cameron University Concert Choir and the Gold Notes, CU’s jazz choir, will present “Sound of the Season,” an evening of festive and inspiring music to welcome the holidays. The concert is slated for Thursday, November 20, at Lawton’s First Presbyterian Church, located at 1302 S.W. A Ave. The 7:30 p.m. concert is open to the public at no charge.
Cameron University will honor active duty and retired members of the U.S. Armed Forces during a series of events on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11.
The Cameron University Foundation has received a $25,000 grant from AT&T that will be used to establish the AT&T Student Scholarship, which is designed to directly reduce the financial burden of tuition so that students can focus on their studies and professional development opportunities.
Cameron University congratulates the students who completed graduation requirements at the end of the Summer 2025 semester. Summer graduates are eligible to participate in graduation ceremonies at the end of the spring semester. The 2026 Commencement is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 8, at Cameron Stadium.
The Cameron University Country/Jazz Fusion concert welcomes Greg Burgess and Oklahoma Swing on Thursday, November 11. Burgess and his ensemble will join the Cameron University Jazz Ensemble and the Lawton Jazz Orchestra for a rousing concert in the University Theatre. The music will start at 7:30 p.m.
Cameron University will display more than 7,000 American flags across campus from Monday, November 3, through Wednesday, November 12, as the lead-up to the university’s annual observance of Veterans Day. Residents of southwest Oklahoma are invited to visit CU to pay homage to the patriotism and service of America’s military while the flags are on display.
Active members of the U.S. Armed Forces, veterans and dependents are invited to Cameron University’s Military Veterans Resource Fair slated for Wednesday November 5, and Thursday, November 6. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the first floor of the McMahon Centennial Complex. The building is located at University Drive and D Avenue in Lawton. Visitor parking is available across the street.
