It has been more than six years since Cameron University music professor Dr. Hyunsoon Whang embarked on a personal goal, that of performing the entire cycle of Beethoven’s 32 sonatas. This month, she will reach that goal, performing the twelfth – and final – concert of that cycle on Sunday, April 12, at 3 p.m. in the University Theatre.
Two Cameron University student organizations are offering “Aggie-grown” garden plants and houseplants – and a chance to win a side of beef – at the Lawton Farmers Market during April.
Approximately 360 students from a dozen southwest Oklahoma high schools converged on Cameron University recently to participate in the university’s 44th Interscholastic Contest. The academic meet offered events in more than 45 categories ranging from accounting and biology, to woodwind instruments and world history.
The Leslie Powell Gallery will present SIX Perspectives, an art exhibition featuring the work of a group of Cameron University senior art students, with a reception from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, April 4.
Cameron University was well-represented at Oklahoma Research Day, with 27 Aggies joining more than 650 student scholars from 18 institutions on the campus of Northeastern State University in Tahlequah.
Cameron University’s Office of Student Development will host its 2026 Leadership Summit on Friday, March 27. “Local Leadership: Voices in Our Community!” is the topic of this year’s event and features sessions led by community organizers, city leaders and CU alumni from a variety of occupations.
High school students who are interested in science – and who may even be aspiring to careers in science, technology, engineering or mathematics – are encouraged to apply for “NanoExplorers: A High School Summer STEM Academy” to be offered at Cameron University this summer.
The Cameron University Concert Band and Lawton Community Band will join forces for a spring musical event planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, March 29, in the University Theatre on CU’s Lawton campus.
The CU Office of Admissions will host a graduate application night from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, in Room 101 of Ross Hall on Cameron’s Lawton campus.
