Spirit Team Recruitment Clinic

Interested in trying out for the CU cheer or dance team? Come to the recruitment clinic! This is for the 2026-2027 season. This is to learn team material and show off your skills. This clinic is for high school seniors, students currently enrolled at Cameron University, and transfer students. If you are under the age of 18 on March 1st, 2026, you will need a parent or guardian to sign a release of liability waiver. This can be emailed to you or a guardian can sign it the day of the clinic.
Attire for the clinic is a black shirt/tank top and black shorts, leggings, or athletic skirt. Cheerleaders should wear cheer shoes. Dancers should bring jazz shoes and a pair of sneakers. Registration will begin at 1:45 p.m.
There will be possible scholarship opportunities.

Session 1 is 9-9:45 a.m. and the topic is Community Leadership: Action. Service. Impact. The panelists will be Ms. Brenda Spencer-Ragland with Embrace Hope of SW Oklahoma, Ms. Adriene Davis with Hungry Hearts Feeding Ministry and Ms. Bernita Taylor with MIGHT Community Development & Resource Center. Be part of an inspiring conversation with dedicated community leaders who are making a difference through their non-profit organizations. This panel highlights the passion, purpose, and perseverance behind their work, offering insight into how grassroots efforts and community partnerships create lasting impact.
Session 2 is 10-10:45 a.m. and the topic is Lawton City Council: Shaping Our City. The panelists will be Mayor Stan Booker, Mr. Taron Epps of Ward 2, Mr. Kirby Brown of Ward 3, and Ms. Sherene L. Williams of Ward 7. In this engaging panel discussion, City Council members will discuss the importance of listening to their constituents, lessons learned in public office, and how working together can turn vision into action.
At 11 a.m., there will be a complimentary lunch.
Session 3 is 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and the topic is PLUS Alumni: From Learning to Leading. The panelists will be Ms. Lizzy Reeves with United Way of SW Oklahoma, Mr. Spencer Brown with FTG Brown & CDBL.
