Cameron University’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day observance to feature activist Sarah Culberson


Cameron University and Cameron Campus Ministry will present Princess Sarah Culberson as the keynote speaker for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day observance. Culberson, an American-born princess of the Mende people of Sierra Leone, will present “Building Community: Lessons from Our Past and Present that Shape Our Future.” This virtual event, with two separate sessions, is scheduled for Tuesday, January 18, via Zoom. Cameron University Testing Center earns recertification and recognition as a leader in excellent testing practices


Cameron University’s Testing Center has been recertified by the National College Testing Association (NCTA). Criteria for recertification are rigorous and are based on the NCTA Professional Standards and Guidelines, which were developed to guide post-secondary test centers in the delivery of quality testing programs. The facility was originally certified in 2014 and earned recertification in 2019.


Staff Awards for Excellence presented by CU


Three Cameron employees have been honored with the university’s Staff Awards for Excellence. Aldrick Bissette, Kay Means and Billie Whipp. Nominations were made by CU students, faculty and staff. In order to be eligible, nominees must have been employed full-time at Cameron for at least one year.


Cotton Electric honored with Business Partnership Excellence Award from Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education


Cotton Electric Cooperative has been honored with the 2025 Business Partnership Excellence Award by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) for its long-standing support of Cameron University. The award recognizes innovative collaborations between businesses and institutions of higher education that further the education of Oklahoma’s workforce.



Concurrent students complete associate degrees


When Lawton Public Schools students Bailey Anderson, Alyssia Diaz, Gabriella O’Brien and Nicolas Raso receive their high school diplomas in late May, they will do so with a distinction that sets them apart from their peers. Each has already earned a college degree, thanks to enrolling at Cameron University as a concurrent student.
