Country/Jazz Fusion concert will feature Landon Dodd and the Dancehall Drifters


The stage of the University Theatre at Cameron University will be dominated by the sounds of three distinctly American styles of music during the upcoming Country/Jazz Fusion concert, featuring special guest Landon Dodd and his band, the Dancehall Drifters. Dodd will join the Cameron University Jazz Ensemble as well as the Lawton Jazz Orchestra to present a program of Western swing, traditional country and classic jazz favorites. The concert takes place on Tuesday, November 2, at 7:30 p.m.


Pickaxe Preview will showcase Cameron University to prospective students


Pickaxe Preview, an informational event for prospective Cameron University students, will provide high school students and their parents with a jam-packed look at the admissions process, campus life, financial assistance, degree programs and what it means to be a Cameron Aggie in one setting. Cameron University Percussion Ensemble takes the stage


The Cameron University Department of Art, Music and Theatre Arts will present a concert showcasing the CU Percussion Ensemble, on Friday, October 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Cameron University Theatre. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students, senior citizens and military members and can be reserved by calling 580-581-2346. CU faculty, students and staff are admitted free with proper identification. Facial coverings are encouraged.


Cameron University’s virtual “CU Be a Therapist” presentation aimed at aspiring mental health professionals


Individuals who have already earned a Bachelor’s degree and who are interested in becoming a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT) or a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) are invited to attend Cameron University’s “CU Be a Therapist” presentation. The virtual event is slated for Wednesday, November 3, at 5:30 p.m. Attendees will learn about two of the tracks offered under CU’s Master of Science in Behavioral Sciences: Counseling as well as Marriage and Family Therapy.


Cameron University Concert Band to present “Music of Our World”


The Cameron University Concert Band will present a concert titled “Music of Our World” on Thursday, October 28, at 7:30 p.m. in the University Theatre. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for senior citizens, military members and non-CU students. CU students, faculty and staff are admitted at no charge with CU I.D. Cameron University closing for Fall Break


Cameron University celebrates the midpoint of the Fall 2021 semester with Fall Break on Thursday, Oct. 21 and Friday, Oct. 22. There will be no classes held during this time, and administrative offices will be closed. Classes will resume and administrative offices will re-open for normal business hours on Monday, Oct. 25.


Cameron University teams with Marie Detty Youth & Family Services for continuing education workshop focusing on domestic violence


Licensed professional counselors and licensed marriage and family therapists in southwest Oklahoma who are seeking continuing education opportunities will be able to earn up to six hours of continuing education credits during “Domestic Violence: Creating An Ethical Therapeutic Environment.” The one-day training session will be presented by the Cameron University Department of Psychology in partnership with Marie Detty Youth & Family Services on Friday, October 29, in the Johnson Auditorium, located in Ross Hall on the south side of the Cameron University campus in Lawton. As seating is limited, registration is required. Virtual attendance is also available.
