Mitchell named OCPRA Communicator of the Year


Keith Mitchell, senior director of public affairs at Cameron University, is the recipient of the Natalea Watkins Communicator of the Year Award for 2021. The award was presented Oct. 27 at the annual fall conference of the Oklahoma College Public Relations Association (OCPRA).


Cameron University’s CU in Computing presentation to focus on Computer Science and Information Technology degree programs


If you’re considering a degree from Cameron University’s Department of Computing and Technology but aren’t sure of the differences between the department’s two undergraduate degree programs – Computer Science and Information Technology -- the upcoming CU in Computing event has the answers. The free, virtual informational presentation will feature specifics about each degree program, including courses, options and undergraduate research opportunities. Career options will also be covered. CU in Computing will take place on Monday, November 22, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.


Cameron University’s Lucas Kaspar to demonstrate versatility of the trombone during upcoming recital


When Cameron University’s Dr. Lucas Kaspar takes the stage on Saturday, November 13, music lovers can look forward to a slate of entertaining and buoyant music emanating from the trombone, widely considered to be the most versatile of musical instruments. The recital will take place in the McCutcheon Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, and $8 for senior citizens, K-12 students and members of the military. CU Become a Reading Specialist will assist teachers in earning additional certification


Certified teachers who are interested in earning additional qualification to become a reading specialist are encouraged to attend “CU Become a Reading Specialist,” a virtual workshop slated for Monday, November 1, at 5:30 p.m. on Zoom. This free, specialized information session, presented by the Cameron University Department of Education, will cover the admission standards and curriculum for earning a Masters of Education in Reading. Cameron University’s Annual Beef Cattle Improvement Conference returns with expanded agenda, keynote by Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur


Cameron University’s annual Beef Cattle Improvement Conference returns on Wednesday, November 17, with an expanded agenda covering a variety of topics of interest to beef producers. The 33rd presentation of the conference will feature a keynote address by Blayne Arthur, Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture, as well as panel presentations focusing on nutrition, federal regulations and financial strategies. Veterans Resource Fair at Cameron University welcomes veterans, active military and dependents


Active members of the U.S. Armed Forces as well as veterans and their dependents are invited to Cameron’s University’s Veterans Resource Fair, held in conjunction with the national observance of Veterans Day. The two-day event will feature representatives from numerous local, state and federal organizations that offer assistance to veterans, military service members and their dependents. The CU Veterans Resource Fair is slated for Monday, November 8, and Tuesday, November 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the first floor of the McMahon Centennial Complex. The building is located at University Drive and D Avenue. Visitor parking is available across the street.
