Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is a new resident or international student?

A new resident is a student who has never lived in university housing. International students are those who do not live in the United States. Whether new or returning, these students move-in on January 8th and 9th.

Can someone else get my key?

No. You must pick up your own key. Parents, friends, or relatives cannot check-in for you.

Are restrooms available during check-in?

Yes. Restrooms are available at the McMahon Learning Center (MLC).

Can I arrive early to beat the rush?

No. Early arrivals disrupt the process and increase wait times. Please arrive only at your assigned time.

Can I send mail before I move in?

Yes.  New residents can have mail sent ahead of their arrival. To ensure it is delivered correctly, mail should be addressed to: Your First and Last Name, McMahon Center, 502 SW University Drive, Lawton, OK 73505.  When your mail arrives at the Housing Office, you will receive an email notification letting you know it is ready for pickup.

What if I need to return early?

If you need to return early, housing will send an email with information on how to request early access, specifically for Shepler residents. Please watch your student email closely for updates and instructions.

Housing Reassignments
