High school juniors and seniors are invited to become a “Music Major for a Day” at Cameron University on Friday, March 15. The event takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to vocalists, string players, brass players, woodwind players, percussionists, pianists and composers. There is no charge to attend.
Job seekers, take note! Cameron University’s Red River Career Expo will offer residents of southwest Oklahoma the opportunity to explore employment opportunities on Thursday, March 7. The event takes place from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Aggie Rec Center, located on the south side of the Cameron campus.
In conjunction with Cameron University’s current academic festival, “Care and Health: A Generational Approach,” the Department of Psychology will present “Evidence Based Practices for Managing Compassion Fatigue.” The virtual workshop is open to licensed mental health professionals, who are eligible to earn three hours of continuing education credits. The event takes place on Friday, March 1, from 1 to 4 p.m. via Zoom.
In an effort to assist alternative certified teachers in Oklahoma to achieve standard certification, the Cameron University Department of Education is offering “The Differentiated Instruction: A Pathway through the PPAT.” The virtual workshop, set for Tuesday, February 20, at 4 p.m., is designed to support alternative teachers in understanding differentiated instruction and how it aligns to the requirements within the Praxis Performance Assessment for Teachers (PPAT).

Cameron University will hold graduation fairs at both the main Lawton campus as well as at CU-Duncan to assist students who plan to participate in Commencement.
In conjunction with Cameron University’s current academic festival, “Care and Health: A Generational Approach,” the Department of Art, Music, and Theatre Arts will present highlights from “The Marriage of Figaro.” The performance will examine Mozart's timeless opera with a unique focus on mental health themes. The performance is slated for Sunday, February 18, at 4 p.m. in the McCutcheon Recital Hall and is open to the public at no charge.
The Cameron University Department of Art, Music, and Theatre Arts will continue its 2023-24 “Season of Chaos, Compassion and Care” with the musical “Ride the Cyclone.” The production will be presented in the University Theatre from Thursday, February 22 through Sunday, February 25. The curtain goes up on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The Cameron University Department of Art, Music and Theatre Arts will host scholarship auditions for high school musicians on Saturday, March 2. Auditions will take place in the McCutcheon Recital Hall. Voice, band, orchestra and jazz band students are welcome to audition and must reserve a time by calling 580-581-2346.
