Festival XIII Logo Contest
Eligibility Rules for the Festival XIII Logo Contest
- This contest is open to all Cameron University students, employees and alumni.
- Logos should reflect the theme of CU’s thirteenth academic festival, “Being Human in the Age of AI.”
- Logos cannot reflect a specific stance on artificial intelligence, either pro or con. The purpose of the academic festival is to explore AI’s implications on society – both beneficial and negative.
- The winning entry will be used to promote all aspects of the festival. Uses include, but are not limited to, printed materials, advertising, tickets, posters, brochures, event programs and social media. This means logos must be versatile in design.
- Logo artwork must include these phrases as part of the design: "Cameron University," "2026-2027," "Festival XIII" and "Being Human in the Age of AI."
- Color and black & white versions of an entry must be submitted. Digital Vector or EPS files are preferred.
- Versatility and creativity will be the key factors in selection of a winner.
- It is permissible to use artificial intelligence as part of the logo creation process, but entrants must disclose that when they submit their entries.
- There is no requirement that artificial intelligence must be used to create an entry.
- The use, or non-use, of artificial intelligence to create entries will not affect the chances of winning the contest.
- The winner consents to having their name and photograph used as part of Festival XIII publicity.
- Contest entries must be the original work of the creator and not previously copyrighted by an individual or business.
- Winner of the contest gives Cameron University exclusive use and ownership of the logo. The winner will be given public credit for their design.
- The prize for the winning entry will be $350 to be paid by CU’s Academic Festival Committee. The prize will be paid by stipend, check or CamCash depending on winner's campus affiliation & status. Only one prize will be awarded.
- Contest entry deadline is 4:59 p.m. on Friday, May 22. A winner will be announced June 1.
- CU Office of Public Affairs staff is ineligible to receive the cash prize.
