Calling all new, continuing or returning students who have been putting off enrollment for the Fall 2021 semester! Cameron University will host a walk-in enrollment clinic at the Lawton campus on Saturday, August 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Just head to the first floor of North Shepler Tower, located in the Shepler Center, and you’ll be able to get assistance in the areas of admissions, financial aid, veterans educational benefits, academic advising and enrollment. The Shepler Center is located off Elsie Hamm Blvd. east of 38th Street; ample parking is available.
Cameron University and City National Bank & Trust have been selected as recipients of a 2021 Business Partnership Excellence Award by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE).
Cameron University has announced the names of faculty members who will take over as chairs in several academic departments. Effective August 1, Dr. Muhammad Javed will assume the position of interim chair in the Department of Mathematical Sciences. Lt. Col. Peter Salfeety was appointed chair of the George D. Keathly Department of Military Science in June. Previously, Dr. Kyle Moore was named academic chair of the Department of Chemistry, Physics and Engineering.

The Cameron Collegian was the winner of the Sequoyah Award in the College Newspapers division of the Oklahoma Press Association’s (OPA) 2020 Best Newspaper Contest.
Cameron University’s Office of Public Affairs was recognized with nine awards at the Oklahoma College Public Relations Association (OCPRA) annual awards ceremony on July 11 in Oklahoma City. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic canceling last year's competition, entries from June 2019 through May 2021 were accepted in this year’s contest.
More than a quarter-million dollars in donations from supporters are enabling Cameron University to add improvements to its agricultural teaching facilities, including the university farm.
Cameron University alumna Michelle Rahn was named as one of five winners during the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence’s 35th Academic Awards Celebration. Rahn, a sixth-grade science, technology, engineering and math teacher at Will Rogers Junior High School in Claremore, was presented with the 2020-21 Oklahoma Medal for Excellence in Elementary Teaching.
The 2021 Military Times “Best for Vets: Colleges” rankings list has been published, with Cameron University achieving a number of distinctions. Cameron was named third in Oklahoma, 13th in the Southwest region, 99th among public institutions, 117th among four year schools and 125th in the nation overall. In addition, Cameron scored an 87% rating for military-friendly institutions.
