Kyle Jarman named director of Cameron University-Duncan

Kyle Jarman has been appointed as the director of CU-Duncan, effective January 1, 2026. He has served as interim director of the campus since July 1.

“Since stepping in as interim director of CU-Duncan in July, Kyle’s leadership has had a significantly positive impact on our students,” says CU President Shane Hunt. “Kyle’s dedication to student success ensures that students at the Duncan campus will enjoy high quality educational opportunities as well as enrichment experiences.”

“I am honored to continue serving the students of CU-Duncan,” Jarman says. “My goal is to ensure they have the support, resources and opportunities they need to succeed in the classroom and in the workplace once they graduate.”

Over the past few months, Jarman has established bonds with numerous community organizations and entities.

“CU-Duncan exists because of the strong partnership between the university and the Duncan community,” he says. “I look forward to building on those relationships to expand opportunities for our students and meet the area’s workforce needs.”

The director of CU-Duncan serves as the university's liaison to Duncan and the surrounding communities. Jarman supervises all CU-Duncan functions including staffing, course offerings, academic programs and facility and property maintenance. Additionally, he oversees all aspects of a CU-Duncan student’s tenure, including admissions, academic advising, student services, financial assistance, recruiting and student retention, with the goal of ensuring student success and degree completion.

As a representative of Cameron University at the local and state levels, Jarman continues existing relationships and develops new ones with area schools, businesses and community services organizations. He assesses local educational and employment needs to determine future growth and opportunities. In addition, he works with applicable staff members at the Lawton campus to market and promote CU-Duncan.

After completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with minors in art and English from Oklahoma State University, Jarman spent two years in Yantai, Shandong, China, as a high school teacher, then joined Tulsa Community College as an academic advisor. During his tenure at TCC, he earned a Master of Science degree in environmental science from Oklahoma State University-Tulsa.

Jarman joined the Cameron staff in 2015 as a retention counselor. In 2018, he was named interim director of the Testing Center and was subsequently named director of the unit. In 2019, he was named Academic Services Director. In that role, he oversaw the operations of CU’s Academic Advising Center and the Testing Center.
