There’s good news for Cameron University students as they prepare for the 2025-2026 academic year, as the university has announced that it will keep tuition and mandatory fees, as well as rates for student housing, unchanged.
The decision reflects Cameron’s mission to provide high-quality, affordable education to students and their families across southwest Oklahoma and north Texas, said new CU president Shane Hunt. By keeping tuition steady, Cameron can continue its emphasis on access, support and student success.
“All of us at Cameron University are committed to providing exceptional value to the students and communities we serve,” Hunt said. “No tuition increase, combined with our smaller class sizes, student support services, internship opportunities, and caring and committed faculty and staff make this an extraordinary time for students to be part of the Cameron University family.”
By maintaining tuition, mandatory fees and housing rates with no increase, Cameron continues to be one of Oklahoma’s great educational values. According to the Education Data Initiative, the average annual cost of tuition, fees, room and board at public, four-year institutions in the U.S. is $22,389, and in Oklahoma the average is $19,438. Cameron’s combined rates (using 30 credit hours during an academic year) are 38 percent less than the national average and 29 percent less than the state average.
In order to offset increased costs associated with Cameron’s food service contract, meal plans will increase only 4 percent this academic year.
Room and board rates were approved by the Board of Regents for the University of Oklahoma, Cameron University and Rogers State University earlier this year. Tuition and mandatory fee rates were approved by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education in late June.
