If you have a yen to grow some of your own food but don’t have an appropriate spot to do so, claim a plot in Cameron University’s Community Garden, located on the south side of Ole Kim Lane west of Southwest 38th Street. The garden contains 33 plots that measure 20’ x 20’ and 22 plots that are 10’ x 20’. Plots will be available beginning April 1. Three area vocal ensembles will raise their voices in song for “A Time for Music,” a free concert on Sunday, March 2, at 3 p.m. The Cameron University Choir, the Lawton Community Choir and the Lawton Academy of Arts & Sciences Secondary Choir will take the stage at the University Theatre for a program filled with inspiring selections.

Autumn Dalman has joined Cameron University as director of sponsored programs. She was previously director of the Native American Serving Non-Tribal Institutions Grant Program at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
When former Vice President Ronna Vanderslice left Cameron University in December 2023 for a post at Oklahoma State University, she maintained her fondness for Cameron and its dedication to student success. With a $62,500 contribution to the Cameron University Foundation, Vanderslice returned to CU recently to celebrate the establishment of the Dr. Ronna Vanderslice Endowed Scholarship in Education to signify her continuing desire to impact the lives of Cameron students.
High school students with an interest in chemistry and/or physics and who aspire to a career in a STEM field are invited to apply for NanoExplorers Summer Science Academy. The residential, summer science academy will take place from June 15-20 and 22-27.
In keeping with the love-struck valentine-filled month of February, the Cameron University Department of Art, Music and Theatre Arts presents “I Love You Because,” a bubbly musical comedy loosely adapted from Jane Austen’s beloved novel, “Pride and Prejudice.” The production takes place from February 20 through February 23. The curtain goes up on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the latest product of the theatre program’s 2024-25 season, “Don’t Go Breakin’ My Heart.”
The Cameron University Jazz Festival will feature guest artist Dr. Matt James, who will join the Cameron University Jazz Ensemble, the Lawton Jazz Orchestra and the Aggie Jazz Academy, on Tuesday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the University Theatre.
