Ten Cameron University students and a recent graduate journeyed to Long Beach, Calif., in April to present their research at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR), presented by the Council on Undergraduate Research.
Members of Cameron University’s Class of 2024 are influencers. That’s the message imparted by Commencement speaker Natalie Shirley, a member of the University of Oklahoma, Cameron University and Rogers State University Regents, on Saturday, May 4 in Aggie Gym.
Cameron University faculty members Leah Chaffins, Dr. Yingqin Liu, Bernadette Lonzanida, Dr. Rajesh Nayak, Dr. Matt Van Zant and adjunct faculty member William Schlecht have been honored with awards recognizing their contributions to Cameron’s academic community.
More than 675 students from 60 Oklahoma high schools were on the Cameron University campus in mid-April for CU’s Agriculture Interscholastic Meet. The event helps agriculture students hone their skills in areas ranging from practical animal science and agronomy to leadership and business while it prepares the students for the state competition. Cameron has hosted the meet for more than 50 years.
The Cameron University Department of Chemistry, Physics and Engineering celebrated the achievements of its students during a recent ceremony in which students were inducted into honor societies and received recognition, and scholarships were awarded.
The Cameron University Department of Social Sciences has honored students as outstanding majors in political science, history, sociology and criminal justice. New members were also inducted into Phi Alpha Theta, the national honor society in history, and Pi Sigma Alpha, the national honor society in political science.
The achievements of Cameron University students and student organizations were recognized during a recent awards ceremony hosted by the Office of Events and Activities.
Three Cameron employees have been honored with the university’s Staff Awards for Excellence. Tammy Loyd, Jehan McKnight and Kristi Vallery are the recipients. Nominations were made by CU students, faculty and staff. In order to be eligible, nominees must have been employed full-time at Cameron for at least one year.
A group of Cameron University students had the opportunity to present their undergraduate research projects during the university’s recent President’s Partners celebration, an event recognizing the contributions of donors to the Cameron University Foundation.
