Prepared for Success Career Ready Conference
8:45 - 10:40 a.m. Conference Sessions
Prepared for Success, a career ready conference, will provide high school and college students the opportunity to learn about specific career pathways as they attend workforce-ready workshops. Open to high school juniors and seniors as well as to current Cameron University students.
Attendees will learn about specific career pathways in which they are interested. Options include Business/Finance/Information Technology, Education/Coaching/Early Childhood, Healthcare, Communications/Journalism, Public Service/Police/Fire/Ambulance, and Manufacturing/Engineering.
Participants will rotate through four brief sessions during the event. Career Pathways will allow attendees to meet with professionals from the career of their choice to gain first-hand knowledge about what to expect in that given profession. The Professional Panel session will be a guided presentation with prepared questions. Career Exploration will provide an opportunity for attendees to visit numerous stations and ask questions about various professions. During Strategies for Success, students will learn resume-writing and interview skills, get tips on dressing professionally and gain insight about how to navigate the career world successfully.
