Students named to 2021 Who’s Who Among Students at Cameron University


Sixty students have been named to Who’s Who Among Students at Cameron University, a competitive and prestigious award. These students were nominated by faculty and staff on campus and then evaluated, based on their leadership, involvement and academics. After receiving a nomination by faculty or staff, students submit an application outlining their collegiate career, including membership in student organizations, campus and community involvement and grades. In order to be eligible, students must have completed at least 60 hours.


Cameron University Office of Campus Life presents Top 10, Top 20 and other annual awards


Cameron University’s Office of Campus Life is pleased to announce the recipients of its annual awards, which are presented to students, faculty and staff. Awards include the Top 20 Students, comprised of outstanding juniors and seniors, and the Top 10 Non-Traditional Students, made up of outstanding juniors and seniors over the age of 25. Students are selected based on excellence in leadership, community service, campus involvement and academics.



Cameron University art camps develop creativity


The Cameron University art program will host two summer camps for children, with multiple sessions available. Creative Expressions Summer Art Camp is geared toward children ranging from age 6 to 12, and the Fine Arts Summer Art Institute is for children ages 13 to 18. Cameron University Civic Symphony to present outdoor spring concert


The Cameron University Civic Symphony will present its spring concert on Saturday, May 1, at 3 p.m. in the Fine Arts Courtyard. The concert open to the public at no charge. In case of inclement weather, the performance will be moved inside to McCutcheon Recital Hall. Social distancing will be in place, and facial coverings are required.


Cameron University receives $2.1 million grant to establish Student Enrichment Center


Cameron University has received a five-year grant of $2.1 million from the U.S. Department of Education’s Strengthening Institutions program, which will fund a new student success-focused office on the Cameron campus. The program provides grants to eligible institutions of higher education to help them become self-sufficient and expand their capacity to serve traditionally underrepresented student populations by providing funds to improve and strengthen the institution's academic quality, institutional management, and fiscal stability.


Cameron University names Fall 2020 graduates


Cameron University is pleased to announce the names of students who completed graduation requirements at the end of the Fall 2020 semester. Fall graduates are eligible to participate in graduation ceremonies at the end of the spring semester. The 2021 Commencement is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 7 and Saturday, May 8, at Cameron Stadium.


Cameron Community Brass Choir to present inaugural concert


The Cameron Community Brass Choir will present its inaugural concert on Thursday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. The new ensemble is composed of CU students; high school students from Lawton High School, MacArthur High School, Eisenhower High School, Cache High School and Central High School; local band directors and hobby musicians. They will be joined by guest trombonist Dr. John Shanks, Assistant Professor of Trombone at West Texas A&M University and Principal Trombone for the Amarillo Symphony.


Cameron University accounting students selected for prestigious national leadership training


Cameron University accounting majors Melody Brown and Rachael Bender were selected to attend the National Leadership Training (NLT), which this year was conducted virtually. The event is coordinated by the Association of Government Accountants, which selected only eight students nationwide. This marks the fourth consecutive year that two accounting students from Cameron were selected for this prestigious scholarship.
