Soiree: Liederabend will feature Cameron University piano and vocal students


Cameron University piano students of Dr. Hyunsoon Whang will move from classroom to performance to demonstrate their accompanying skills. They will accompany vocal students of Dr. Christian Morren in a recital that will allow both pianists and vocalists to shine during Soiree: Liederabend, slated for Tuesday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the McCutcheon Recital Hall. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for senior/military/non-Cameron students. CU students, faculty and staff are admitted free with CU I.D.


Cameron University congratulations Fall 2021 graduates


Cameron University is pleased to congratulate the students who completed graduation requirements at the end of the Fall 2021 semester. Fall graduates are eligible to participate in graduation ceremonies at the end of the spring semester. The 2022 Commencement is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 6, and Saturday, May 7, at Cameron Stadium.


Cameron University students honored with membership into Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society


The Cameron University chapter of Phi Eta Sigma, the nation’s oldest and largest honor society for first year college students, has welcomed 19 new members, who earned the qualification criteria in the spring or fall of 2021. Phi Eta Sigma, with chapters on more than 375 college campuses across the nation, encourages and rewards academic excellence achieved by students during their freshman year in institutions of higher learning.


Cameron music program presents Jonathan Stoby and Adam Walton in marimba/trombone concert


The Cameron University Department of Art, Music and Theatre Arts is pleased to present a concert featuring trombonist Jonathan Stoby and percussionist Adam Walton, both members of the 77th Army Band. They are set to appear in the McCutcheon Recital Hall on Saturday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for senior citizens/military/K-12 students. Admission is free to CU students, faculty and staff with Cameron ID. Please call 580-581-2346 to reserve a seat.


“CU Be a Therapist” will provide information about becoming a mental health professional


Interested in entering the challenging yet rewarding field of mental health? Cameron University’s CU Be a Therapist, a virtual information session, will present information on how a Master of Science in Behavioral Science degree can lead to licensure as a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT) or a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) on Tuesday, April 12 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.


CU in History and Political Science virtual presentation will explore careers opportunities


Traditional academic fields such as history and political science are more relevant today than ever before, as a degree in either of these disciplines can lead to a wide-ranging option of professions, including law, private business, government service, the armed forces and more. Learn about the possibilities during Cameron University’s “CU in History and Political Science,” a virtual workshop on Monday, April 11 at 5:30 p.m.


Virtual workshop CU Become a Teacher will assist future educators


The Cameron University Department of Education will hold a “CU Become a Teacher” virtual workshop for anyone who is considering entering the teaching field. The Zoom presentation will take place on Wednesday, April 6 at 5:30 p.m. This free, specialized presentation will focus on the multiple pathways for becoming a teacher.
