Concurrent enrollment – whereby high school students take college level classes to get a head start on earning a college degree – has reached an all-time high at Cameron University. For the Fall 2022 semester, the number of concurrent students is 34.8 percent higher than in Fall 2021.
The Cameron University Department of Art, Music, and Theatre Arts will begin its 2022-23 season with “Alias Grace” by Jennifer Blackmer. The production will be presented in the University Theatre from Thursday, September 29, through Sunday, October 2. The curtain goes up on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Cameron University has been selected for inclusion on MilitarySupportiveColleges.com’s Select Schools – Central Editor’s Pick list. CU is one of only two regional, public universities chosen by the digital platform’s editors. According to the site, all schools selected go the extra mile toward making vets and active duty military students feel at home and offer the extra support those students need to transition to higher education from military service.
Cameron University’s Department of Art, Music, and Theatre Arts will close its 2021-2022 Spirited Season with “9 to 5: The Musical.” Based on the hit movie, the lively production follows the adventures of Violet, Judy and Doralee as they get revenge on their sexist, egotistical boss, Mr. Hart.

Cameron University will join colleges and universities across the nation to celebrate Constitution Day on Friday, September 16, with "The Constitution and the Border: Legal Bridges and Walls Moving Ahead,” a virtual presentation by David Patrick Petermann. Melissa Mayfield has joined the staff of Cameron University as Director of Human Resources. She was most recently employed with the City of Lawton in the Human Resources and Legal Departments.
“Bring it on, After Goya,” a painting by Cameron University assistant professor of art Jack Crouch, has been selected for inclusion in the Hilliard Gallery’s Contemporary Social Realism exhibition. Crouch’s oil painting is one of 21 pieces selected for the national juried exhibit, which will be on display at the Kansas City, Mo., gallery through October 26.
Cameron University alumna Jennifer Glover-Rowland, MS, LPC, has been named director of the Student Wellness Center, which provides services that enhance the physical and mental health of CU students.
