Cameron Psychology Clinic now accepting clients


The Cameron Psychology Clinic (CPC) is now accepting clients. The clinic is open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 to 6 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call 580-581-3153 or email cpc@cameron.edu.


Cameron University to host Enrollment Saturday; spring classes start January 9


The Spring 2023 semester at Cameron University is quickly approaching. New, continuing or returning students who have not yet enrolled are encouraged to take advantage of Enrollment Saturday. During the walk-in enrollment clinic, students will find assistance in the areas of admissions, financial aid, veterans educational benefits, academic advising and enrollment. Enrollment Saturday takes place on Saturday, January 7, from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. on the first floor of the North Shepler Tower, located in the Shepler Center on the Lawton campus of Cameron University. The Shepler Center is located off Elsie Hamm Blvd. east of 38th Street; ample parking is available.


Cameron University celebrates the expansion of Unity Garden with tree planting ceremony


Cameron University celebrates the expansion of Unity Garden by planting three Chinese Pistache trees on the Lawton campus. The expansion of the Unity Gardens was precipitated by the addition of an atrium to the Eugene D. McMahon Library, which was made possible by a generous donation from the McMahon Foundation. The tree planting also provided a public service opportunity for student Wyatt Johnson to dedicate one of the trees to a deceased, long time employee of the University, Yvonne Fooshee.


Cameron University staff members recognized with Pickaxe Award


Cameron University staff members Sandra Bussey and Bob Dill are the recipients of the 2022 Pickaxe Awards, which recognize full-time Cameron employees whose performance is above and beyond expectations. Bussey is an administrative assistant in the Office of Teaching and Learning, and Dill is a systems administrator in Information Technology Services. Each received a $1,000 stipend and a commemorative award.


Cameron University Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day observance to feature Lt. General (Ret.) Russel L. Honoré


Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Russel L. Honoré will explore the connection between racial inequality and poverty during Cameron University’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration, an event co-sponsored by Cameron Campus Ministries. Honoré, the keynote speaker, will present “Ending the Cycle of Poverty and Racial Injustice” during a banquet on Monday, January 16, 2023, at 6:30 p.m.


Cameron University’s Dr. Abbas Johari honored with Excellence Award


Cameron University faculty member Dr. Abbas Johari has been honored with the 2022 Editors Reviewer Excellence Award by the editors of the Educational Technology Research and Development (ETR&D) journal. The award recognizes exemplary academic services in support of the publication. ETR&D is the premier journal of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology.


81st performance of Handel’s “Messiah” to feature more than 80 vocalists


When the Lawton Schubert Music Club, Fort Sill's New Post Chapel and the Cameron University/Lawton Civic Chorus present the 81st performance of Handel’s Messiah, they’ll do so with a chorus of more than 80 vocalists from southwest Oklahoma taking the stage. One of the oldest holiday traditions in this region is slated for Saturday, December 10, at 7:30 p.m. at the McMahon Auditorium. Admission is free.
