Prospective students invited to Cameron University’s Fall Preview Day


High school students and their parents are invited to Cameron University’s Fall Preview Day, an informational event for prospective college students that will provide a jam-packed look at the admissions process, campus life, financial assistance, degree programs and what it means to be a Cameron Aggie in one setting. The multi-faceted event is set for Thursday, November 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.


Military Veterans Resource Fair will provide information for active duty service members, veterans and dependents


Active members of the U.S. Armed Forces as well as veterans and their dependents are invited to Cameron University’s Military Veterans Resource Fair, slated for November 7-8. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the first floor of the McMahon Centennial Complex. The building is located at University Drive and D Avenue. Visitor parking is available across the street.


Cameron University offers virtual CU in Educational Leadership workshop


If you’re considering earning a master's degree to become a school principal or other school leader (which requires a minimum of one year experience as a classroom teacher), register now for "CU In Educational Leadership," a free, specialized workshop offered via Zoom. CU Become a Reading Specialist offers information to teachers about additional certification


Certified teachers who are interested in earning additional qualification to become a reading specialist are encouraged to attend “CU Become a Reading Specialist,” a virtual workshop slated for Tuesday, November 15, at 5 p.m. on Zoom. This free, specialized information session, presented by the Cameron University Department of Education, will cover the admission standards and curriculum for earning a Masters of Education degree in Reading.


It’s time to RECONNECT and finish the degree you started at Cameron University


Individuals who have successfully completed some college coursework but have not yet finished a degree program are encouraged to attend one of two virtual Reach Higher: Reconnect events hosted by Cameron University. The virtual sessions are designed to help working adults find the information and resources – including financial assistance opportunities – needed to complete a bachelor’s degree. Reach Higher: Reconnect is slated for Wednesday, October 26, at from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursday, October 27, from 5 to 6 p.m.


Dr. John G. Morris honored by South Central Modern Language Association


Cameron University’s Dr. John G. Morris, Professor of English, was named one of three recipients of the South Central Modern Language Association’s (SCMLA) Honorary Lifetime Membership Award at the organization’s annual meeting in Memphis, Tenn., on Friday, October 14. The award recognizes outstanding contributions to the organization over many years.


Legendary Tommy Hooker to headline Country/Jazz Fusion concert


The legendary Tommy Hooker will take the stage of the University Theatre at Cameron University during the annual Country/Jazz Fusion concert, joining the CU Jazz Ensemble and the Lawton Jazz Orchestra for a toe-tapping evening of dance hall music and jazz standards. The concert takes place on Tuesday, November 8, at 7:30 p.m.


Hyunsoon Whang to present “Beethoven Sonata Cycle 5”


In September 2019, Cameron University’s Dr. Hyunsoon Whang set the goal of performing all of Beethoven’s 32 piano sonatas. To date, she has performed 12 of the compositions, which are considered one of the most important collections of works in the history of music. She will edge three sonatas closer to her goal on Thursday, November 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the McCutcheon Recital Hall.
