Accountants and auditors are in critical demand in Oklahoma, according to data provided by Oklahoma Works. Accounting graduates are able to find high paying career opportunities ranging from traditional accounting work to banking, finance, management and other career sectors.

“Accounting is so much more than just recording numbers,” says Dr. Krystal Brue, Chair, CU Department of Business. “It's solving business challenges by helping organizations manage their finances and cash flow.”

Students who pursue the Bachelor of Accounting degree gain a deep knowledge of accounting practices, supplemented by the broader, business-specific skills employers look for. In addition, those who wish to become licensed as a Certified Public Accountant are better prepared to take the Uniform CPA Exam®, which is administered by the Oklahoma Accountancy Board.
