Cameron University is pleased to announce changes in leadership within the Office of Academic Affairs, effective July 1.
Dr. Carie Schneider will begin her service as chair of the Department of Communication, English and Foreign Languages following the retirement of Dr. Von Underwood. Schneider, an associate professor who joined the Cameron faculty in 2018, served as director of composition from 2020 through June 2025. She teaches a variety of literature courses as well as English Composition, Social Media Theory and Language, Linguistics & Society. She also serves as the faculty advisor for the Native American Intertribal Association. Schneider has Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in German Studies, a Master of Arts degree in Literature and a Ph.D. in Literature, all from the University of Arizona.
Kyle Jarman, current Academic Services Director, will serve as Interim Director of Cameron University-Duncan through the Fall 2025 semester following the resignation of Dr. Dakota Kaus. Jarman, who joined the CU staff in 2015, manages the Academic Advising Center and the Testing Center. Jarman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Oklahoma State University in 2005 and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science from Oklahoma State University-Tulsa in 2015.
Kensey Garrison will serve as the Acting Academic Services Director through the Fall 2025 semester, assuming management of the Academic Advising Center and the Testing Center. She has previously served as an academic advising specialist and a high school liaison, having joined Cameron in 2021. A CU alumna, Garrison earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology in 2019 and a Master of Science degree in behavioral sciences in 2021.
