Calling all high school students! Learn about Cameron University during its virtual Pickaxe Preview!

Cameron University will host its first Virtual Pickaxe Preview, an informational and entertaining session aimed at high school students as they ponder their college options. In previous years, Pickaxe Preview was offered as in-person gathering. Due to COVID-19 precautions, the event will be delivered via a livestream format on Saturday, November 7, at 1 p.m. Participants who register and attend will receive a t-shirt.

“We’re excited to offer Pickaxe Preview in a virtual format for the first time,” says Brenda Dally, Director of Admissions. “As always, the event is an outstanding opportunity for high school students and their parents to learn about admissions, financial assistance, housing, and other segments about campus life and athletics.”

Virtual attendees will also hear from current students about their own CU experiences. Among them is Aggie cheerleader Whitney Turnpaugh, a psychology major who is active in the Aggie Ambassador program and serves as a resident assistant in student housing. .

“When I attended the Pickaxe Preview last year, it gave me a chance to interact with current students as well as faculty and staff,” Turnpaugh says. “This opportunity gave me a real feel for the campus and the family community found at Cameron. Now, I attend Cameron University and I have made some of the best memories of my life!”

With almost 50 degree programs, the lowest tuition and fee package in the state, in-person and online classes, and affordable student housing, Cameron is a great choice for earning a college degree.
