Veterans Resource Fair slated at Cameron University


Almost 30 organizations aimed at assisting veterans, military service members and their dependents will be on hand at Cameron University’s Veterans Resource Fair, slated for April 13-14. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the first floor of the McMahon Centennial Complex. The building is located at University Drive and D Avenue. Visitor parking is available across the street.


Dr. Ioannis Argyros authors second edition of mathematics textbook


Cameron University’s Dr. Ioannis Argyros, Professor of Mathematics, has updated “The Theory and Applications of Iteration Methods,” which he co-authored in 1993. The newly released second edition provides a plethora of results on research conducted at Cameron University related to the development of new algorithms used to solve problems from diverse disciplines.


“Emergence,” Cameron University’s senior art show, to open April 2 at Leslie Powell Gallery


The Cameron University Department of Art, Music and Theatre Arts will present a 2022 senior art exhibition, “Emergence,” at the Leslie Powell Gallery, 620 S.W. D Avenue. An opening reception is planned for Saturday, April 2, at 6:30 p.m. and is open to the public at no charge. Artwork on display for the exhibition, which will run through April 30, will be available for purchase.


Cameron University invites you to RECONNECT and finish the degree you started


Cameron University invites adults who have earned college credit but were unable to complete a degree program to attend one of two virtual Reach Higher: Reconnect events, designed to help working adults find the information and resources needed to complete a bachelor’s degree. The virtual sessions are slated for Wednesday, March 30, at from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thursday, March 31, from 5 to 6 p.m.


Cameron University’s Seventh Annual Inclusion and Leadership Summit to feature Paralympian/motivational speaker Oz Sanchez


“Know No Limits.” That’s the mantra of Oz Sanchez, motivational speaker, retired Marine, Paralympian, Kona Ironman finisher and seven-time world champion, and keynote speaker for CU’s seventh annual Inclusion and Leadership Summit on Friday, April 1. The half-day conference will take place virtually from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is available to the public at no charge.


Hyunsoon Whang continues performance cycle of Beethoven’s piano sonatas


Cameron University professor Hyunsoon Whang will present “Beethoven Sonata Cycle 4,” the fourth in a series of piano recitals in which she performs select Beethoven sonatas. The recital is set for on Thursday, March 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the McCutcheon Recital Hall, where Whang will perform on a new Steinway piano that was a gift to the university from donors Matt Gaskins and Don Gaskins.
