Cameron University Office of Campus Life presents annual awards


Cameron University’s Office of Campus Life is pleased to announce the recipients of its annual awards, which are presented to students, faculty and staff. Awards including the Top 20 Students, comprised of outstanding juniors and seniors, and the Top 10 Non-Traditional Students, made up of outstanding juniors and seniors over the age of 25. Students are selected based on excellence in leadership, community service, campus involvement and academics.


Students named to Who’s Who Among Students at Cameron University


More than 45 students have been named to Who’s Who Among Students at Cameron University, a competitive and prestigious award. These students were nominated by faculty and staff on campus and then evaluated, based on their leadership, involvement and academics. After receiving a nomination by faculty or staff, students submit an application outlining their collegiate career, including membership in student organizations, campus and community involvement and grades. In order to be eligible, students must have completed at least 60 hours.


Cameron University Foundation joins Global Giving Tuesday on May 5 on behalf of CU students


The Cameron University Foundation has joined Global Giving Tuesday, an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. The Foundation is encouraging donations to benefit the Cameron Aggie Response Fund (CARE), which assists students with unforeseen financial expenses. All donations made on May 5 will be earmarked for the CARE Fund. To make a donation, go to https://www.cameron.edu/foundation and click on the “Give Now” option. Gifts may also be mailed to the Cameron University Foundation, 2800 West Gore Blvd., Lawton, OK 73505. All donations are tax-deductible.


Cameron University offers virtual chats with staff members from Financial Assistance


Prospective students who are wondering how to pay for a Cameron University degree can now schedule a virtual chat with a staff member from the Office of Financial Assistance to learn about financial aid opportunities and how to apply for them. Virtual chats can be scheduled Monday through Friday at 11 a.m. and at 3 p.m. by visiting https://www.cameron.edu/visit (please note that this web url must be used in its entirety – please do not omit https://) and selecting a date and time. Virtual meetings will take place over Zoom. After the meeting has been scheduled, the requesting individual will receive an emailed Zoom invitation for the session.


Cameron University offers virtual meetings and Facebook Live events for prospective students


Ready to apply for admission to Cameron University but not sure what to do? Curious about the status of your pending application? CU’s Office of Admissions is making it easy to do both by offering virtual chat meetings with prospective students. Virtual chats can be scheduled with an admissions counselor by visiting www.cameron.edu/visit and selecting a date and time. Virtual meetings are offered at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Virtual meetings will take place over Zoom. Once the meeting has been scheduled, an admissions counselor will email a Zoom invitation to the individual requesting the meeting along with a confirmation of the day and time of the session.


Education students at Cameron University accepted into Kappa Delta Pi education honor society


Nineteen Cameron University education students have been accepted into the Upsilon Xi Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society in education. Selection as a member of Kappa Delta Pi requires high academic achievement, a commitment to education as a career, and a professional attitude that assures steady growth in the profession. Only those who have exhibited the ideals of scholarship, integrity in service, and commitment to excellence in teaching and its allied professions are granted membership.


Cameron University students from Duncan, Elgin join Pi Mu Epsilon, honor society of mathematics


The Cameron University Department of Mathematical Sciences is pleased to announce the acceptance of two new members into the university’s chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon (PME). PME is dedicated to the promotion of mathematics and recognition of students who successfully pursue mathematical understanding. Cameron's chapter, the third to be established in Oklahoma, was founded in 1979.
