Cameron University’s public radio station, KCCU-FM, has announced a new addition to its programming lineup. “CU Today,” hosted by Cameron President Shane Hunt, will air the last Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. The debut episode is set for July 28.
Each episode of “CU Today” will feature Hunt interviewing CU alumni and members of the faculty and staff. Hunt’s guests for the first episode will be Dr. Carie Schneider, chair of the Department of Communication, English and Foreign Languages, and Jay Johnson, a 1990 alumnus who serves as president and CEO of Duncan Regional Hospital.
In addition to sharing remembrances of their time at CU, alumni guests will talk about their careers and industry. Faculty and staff members will discuss research, teaching, student engagement and community involvement.
“I am thrilled to share stories each month of the positive impact that Cameron has on our students, throughout the community and across the state,” Hunt says.
KCCU, an NPR affiliate, can be heard locally on 89.3 FM and 102.9 FM. Additional transmitters include KOCU, 90.1 FM in the Altus area; KLCU, 90.3 FM in the Ardmore area; and KMCU, 88.7 FM in Wichita Falls and northern Texas.
