Cameron University’s music program invites high school seniors, current CU students and transfer students to audition for music scholarships. Auditions will take place on Saturday, Feb. 28, in the Music Building, located on the east side of campus. Auditions are open to non-music majors as well as music majors.
Vocalists, instrumentalists, pianists and string players wishing to audition are asked to prepare two pieces of contrasting styles. Those who do not have two pieces ready should perform a piece that demonstrates their best skills.
Students can register for an audition at https://forms.gle/UmXSthybWehwjjFr6. Registrants will be assigned an audition time and will perform for CU music faculty members in a supportive, encouraging environment. Following the audition, faculty will talk with each student individually.
Students unable to attend on-campus auditions may submit a video audition with the registration form. Audio-only recordings will not be considered. To submit a high-quality video audition, the student should record themselves singing or playing audition pieces on video and ensure that their face, posture and instrument (if applicable) are clearly visible. Upload all required files directly through the registration portal. This allows faculty to evaluate each registrant with the same care and attention given to in-person auditions.

The music program offers numerous opportunities to participate in instrumental and/or vocal ensembles.
The Department of Art, Music and Theatre Arts offers a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in music, Bachelor of Music degree and a Bachelor of Music Education degree.
