CU-Duncan to host free movie night at Palace Theatre




Cameron University-Duncan invites its students and alumni as well as community members to a free screening of the critically acclaimed movie, “Wonka.” The screening is slated for Friday, April 19, at 6:30 p.m. at the historic Palace Theatre, located at 926 W. Main Street in Duncan. Parking is accessible via Willow Avenue. Seating is first-come, first-served.

“CU-Duncan receives phenomenal support from communities throughout Stephens County, so we wanted to show our thanks for that constant support,” says Dr. Dakota Kaus, Director, CU-Duncan. “We’re also providing this opportunity to our students to give them a break before they start preparing for finals week.”

“Wonka” is a 2023 musical fantasy film starring Timothée Chalamet as Roald Dahl’s legendary character in this origin story. Armed with nothing but a hatful of dreams, young chocolatier Willy Wonka manages to change the world, one delectable bite at a time.

The film is rated PG for some violence, mild language and thematic elements. It has a running time of 116 minutes.
