Today is election day in Oklahoma. In addition to all those boring political races, Cameron University faculty, staff and students have a chance to cast a vote on a really important issue. The Department of Agriculture, Biology and Health Sciences needs the campus community’s help in selecting a name for its new bovine skeleton.
The skeleton was acquired last week and is currently on display in the east wing of the Sciences Complex.
“We are truly grateful for the hard work and collaboration across campus, from faculty and staff to those who helped make this addition to the Sciences Complex possible,” said animal science instructor Destiny Wahweah. “The skeleton is a wonderful reflection of Cameron's commitment to its agricultural heritage and its long-standing roots in agricultural education across disciplines.”
Proposed names for the skeleton were suggested by students in Cameron’s ag program, with each option featuring a unique CU theme. Voting is underway in the first-floor interaction area of the Sciences Complex. Students and employees can cast their votes until noon on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
A naming celebration will take place that afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
