Cameron University announces interim changes in Academic Affairs office

Cameron University is announcing interim changes within the Office of Academic Affairs for the 2025-26 academic year.

Dr. Lance Janda will serve as Acting Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences. Janda joined the faculty in 1999 and holds the rank of professor. He has served as chair of the Department of Social Sciences (formerly the Department of History and Government) since August 2008 and has previously served as associate vice president for enrollment management and coordinator for the Office of Graduate Studies.

Dr. Krystal Brue will serve as Acting Dean for the School of Graduate and Professional Studies. After serving as an adjunct faculty member for 20 years, Brue joined the CU faculty in July 2013. Holding the rank of professor, she has served as the chair of the Department of Business since June 2019. In August 2022, she was also named assistant dean for the School of Graduate and Professional Studies and the School of Arts and Sciences.

The appointments of Janda and Brue are necessitated by the resignation of Dr. Jennifer Dennis, Dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies and Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, who has accepted a position at another university.

With Janda and Brue moving to acting dean positions, the Department of Social Sciences and the Department of Business will see new leadership.

Jennifer Ellis will serve as the acting chair for the Department of Business. She joined Cameron as an instructor in the Department of Business in Fall 2024 after serving for more than 20 years as president and CEO of Cosmetic Specialty Labs, Inc.

Dr. Edris Montalvo will serve as acting chair for the Department of Social Sciences. Dr. Montalvo holds the rank of professor, having joined the Department of Social Sciences in 2010. He currently serves as chair of the Faculty Senate.
