The Cameron University Alumni Association (CUAA) is accepting nominations for its 2026 alumni and faculty awards, which recognize individuals whose accomplishments honor the legacy of Cameron University. Since 1979, the CUAA has recognized more than 200 individuals with honors such as the Distinguished Alumni Award, Outstanding Young Alumni Award, and Faculty Hall of Fame Award.
Nominations are open to students, graduates, and friends of the university. Online nomination forms are available at https://www.cameron.edu/alumni/awards and are easy to complete. The deadline to submit nominations is Thursday, July 31, 2025.
The awards will be presented during Cameron’s Homecoming Weekend festivities in February 2026. Faculty and students from all eras of Cameron — including Cameron State School of Agriculture (1908-1927), Cameron State Agricultural College (1927-1971), Cameron College (1971-1974), and Cameron University (1974-present) — are eligible for nomination.
Award Categories:
• Distinguished Alumni Award – Presented to alumni who received their first degree from Cameron more than 10 years ago.
• Outstanding Young Alumni Award – For alumni who received their first degree from Cameron within the past 10 years.
• Alumni who attended but did not graduate may be considered at the discretion of the CUAA Board of Directors.
• Faculty Hall of Fame Award – Honors current or retired faculty who have taught at Cameron for at least five years and made a positive impact on student lives, contributed to the university community, and demonstrated teaching excellence.
Nominations will be evaluated on the basis of career accomplishments, community service, and continued support of Cameron University. Up to two awards per category may be presented annually. Posthumous nominations are also welcome.
About the Awards:
• The Distinguished Alumni Award has honored more than 120 individuals, including a former Cameron president, a U.S. Ambassador, state legislators and military generals.
• Initiated in 2006, the Outstanding Young Alumni Award was created to inspire current students by recognizing early professional achievement.
• The Faculty Hall of Fame Award, established in 1995, highlights faculty who have gone above and beyond both in and outside the classroom.
