Time waits for no one, and that’s even true of college students – especially those who are nearing their goal of earning a degree.
Cameron University will present diplomas to the Class of 2026 on Friday, May 8. A hooding ceremony is slated for 3 p.m. in Aggie Gym for those who have earned their master’s degrees, followed by a general graduation ceremony for associate, baccalaureate and master’s degree recipients at 7:30 p.m. in Cameron Stadium.
Students who completed degree requirements in December 2025, or who will complete requirements in May, July or December 2026, are eligible to participate in the ceremonies.
But before all the pomp and circumstance of graduation happens, CU students have several tasks ahead of them – even before they take their final exams. Among them are applying for graduation and securing graduation regalia.
To make it a bit easier, Cameron has scheduled two graduation fairs that combine all the important steps in one location at one time. The first takes place on CU’s Duncan campus, 3100 W. Bois d’Arc Ave., on Tuesday, March 10, in the Learning Resource Center. The fair runs from 10 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. A similar event will happen Wednesday, March 11, on the Lawton campus, from 8:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. in the McCasland Foundation Ballroom of the McMahon Centennial Complex.
Perhaps the most important step facing grads-to-be is applying for graduation, which is required before a degree can be conferred. Representatives from the Office of the Registrar will be at both grad fairs to guide students through this simple, online process.
Tables will be set up so that graduation candidates can purchase caps and gowns, join the university’s alumni association, participate in the class gift, explore graduate school options, discuss student loan obligations and learn about job searches.
The Lawton fair will also enable students to have their graduation portraits – complete with cap and gown – taken by a professional photographer. There is no sitting fee, and grads can order their portraits in digital or print versions. Students at the Lawton event can also order graduation announcements.
Participants in the grad fairs include the Cameron University Alumni Association, Student Enrichment Center, CU Printing Services, College of Graduate and Professional Studies, Office of Financial Aid, Department of Military Science, the CU Bookstore, and Balfour, Inc.
Those unable to participate in-person at either event can still access those graduation services by contacting each office individually on the Lawton campus.
