Lawton Northeast On-Line Branch Lions Club continues Earth Day tradition with tree donation

The Lawton Northeast On-Line Branch Lions Club has continued its annual tradition of donating trees to the Cameron University campus to commemorate Earth Day. This year, the club donated two Eastern Redbuds, which have been planted outside the southwest corner of Aggie Gym. This marks the 13th consecutive year the group has donated at least one tree to Cameron.

“The grounds surrounding Aggie Gym are highlighted by brilliant color each spring, thanks to the beautiful redbud trees donated by the Lawton Northeast On-Line Branch Lions Club,” says Albert Johnson Jr., Vice President for University Advancement. “A majority of the club members have direct ties to Cameron, and we are so appreciative that they choose to continue this annual tradition of beautifying our campus.”

The members of the Lawton Northeast On-Line Branch Lions Club began donating trees to CU in 2009.
