Kingsley named Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs

Dr. Marge Kingsley will serve as Cameron University’s Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs, effective January 3, 2024. Her appointment was approved earlier today by the University of Oklahoma, Cameron University and Rogers State University Board of Regents.

Kingsley will replace Dr. Ronna Vanderslice, who resigned to take the position of Vice Provost of the Oklahoma State University System and Interim Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City.

A member of the Cameron faculty since 1994, Kingsley is currently Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. A former academic department chair, she oversees numerous CU resources and units that directly impact student success, including the Office of Teaching and Learning, the Student Enrichment Center, the Eugene D. Mahon Library, Student Support Services and academic services including the Academic Advising Center and the Testing Center.

As Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs, Kingsley will have administrative responsibility for all academic units and academic support services, including CU-Duncan, the School of Graduate and Professional Students, the School of Arts and Sciences, Information Technology Services, the Office of the Registrar and the Office of Institutional Research, Assessment and Accountability.

“Throughout her academic career at Cameron University, Dr. Kingsley has demonstrated strong leadership and strategic thinking – all with the goal of enhancing the education of CU students as they work towards degree completion,” says Dr. John McArthur, president. “We wish Dr. Vanderslice well in her new career venture, and we deeply appreciate Dr. Kingsley’s willingness to step into this interim role.”

The process for filling the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs will be announced at a later date.
