Dr. Kyle Moore named academic chair at Cameron University




Dr. Kyle Moore, an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry, Physics and Engineering, has been appointed chair of the department, effective June 1. Moore will fill the role of chair that will be vacated by the retirement of Dr. Danny McGuire.

Moore earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2003 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomolecular Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2009.

Since joining the CU faculty in August 2012, Moore has taught a variety of classes, including Biochemistry, with emphasis on human metabolism and metabolic diseases, as well as General Chemistry and Descriptive Chemistry with associated labs. Moore’s research interests include bioenergetics and membrane proteins.

He is currently the chair of CU’s Institutional Assessment Committee and is a member of the Math Pathways Task Force as well as the General Education Committee, on which he served as secretary for three years.

Moore is a member of Who’s Who in Sciences Academia.
