Cameron’s Invitational High School Art Competition and Exhibition to open on March 9




Cameron University will celebrate the artwork of high school students throughout southwest Oklahoma with its Invitational High School Art Competition and Exhibition. The exhibition will open on Thursday, March 9, in CU’s Teaching Art Gallery, located in the Art Building on the east side of campus in the Louise D. McMahon Fine Arts Complex. A reception for the artists is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Awards will also be presented.

Entries for the exhibition were open to all high school students in southwest Oklahoma. Both two-dimensional works (paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, etc.) and three-dimensional works (sculptures, multi-media pieces, etc.) are included. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place, as well as honorable mention.

The winning works will be selected by members of Cameron’s art faculty. The exhibition will be on display through March 31.
