Cameron University names David Kaine as director of human resources




Cameron University alumnus David Kaine has joined the staff of CU as director of human resources. He brings more than 15 years experience in human resources, serving as director of human resources for the Kiowa Casino before moving into general management in 2021. His expertise includes the areas of benefits and compensation, compliance regulations, mediation and issue resolution, training and onboarding, documentation and reporting, and team building and leadership.

“David’s depth of knowledge in all areas of human resource management will provide CU’s Department of Human Resources with a solid foundation,” says Ninette Carter, interim Vice President for Business and Finance. “His expertise will ensure that the university continues to be compliant with federal and state employment regulations.”

As director of the Office of Human Resources, Kaine is responsible for all human resources management activities including recruitment, personnel actions of all types, retention, compensation, employee relations, employee evaluations, grievance procedures, and appeals processes. Job duties include but are not limited to responsibility for employment policies and procedures for staff and faculty; preparing and maintaining the employee handbook; and conducting recruitment efforts for all staff vacancies. In addition, Kaine is responsible for employee training efforts, performing job audits, managing the performance management system, and more.

Kaine earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from CU in 2003. He has earned the designation of SHRM Certified Professional from the Society from Human Resource Management and is certified in COBRA compliance by the Oklahoma Insurance Department.
