University's operational status extended

  • April 15, 2020

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve locally and statewide, Cameron University is following the lead of the City of Lawton and City of Duncan in the operation of its campuses in those communities. Based on additional information and the actions of those two municipal governments, as well as others in Cameron’s service area, the university will remain in its current operational status through Friday, May 1, 2020.

Cameron will continue with the virtual delivery of courses through the remainder of the semester.

Cameron University’s Summer 2020 term will take place as scheduled, and enrollment is in progress. At this time, the university is planning for primarily technology-enabled, virtual instruction, although there remains the possibility of limited face-to-face, traditional instruction.

Enrollment is also open for the Fall 2020 semester, which starts August 17. The normal selection of courses is expected to be offered, and in their traditional modes, although the schedule is subject to modification as CU adjusts to shifting student demographics, student preferences, and changes in the status of the pandemic.

Access to all campus sites remains restricted until May 1. Essential personnel on the Lawton campus should monitor the City of Lawton’s continuing discussion about requirements for nose and mouth coverings in some circumstances and locations. As of today, masks are not required.

The most current information about new guidance, new requirements, the virus and Cameron University responses will be on this website. Students and employees should also regularly check their campus email account for updates.
