Forgiveness Policy

Academic Forgiveness

The Academic Forgiveness Policy is provided in accordance with the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) and allows undergraduate students to have courses removed from the calculation of their retention/graduation grade point average (GPA) under certain circumstances.  The policy consists of three components:  the repeat policy, the reprieve policy and the renewal policy.

Please note that this policy applies to undergraduate credit only. There is no forgiveness policy for graduate credit courses.

A student may only request one reprieve or renewal from Cameron University and the request forms are available at the links provided below.

For students receiving forgiveness, the transcript will reflect a retention/graduation GPA, excluding forgiven courses/terms, and a cumulative GPA, which includes all regularly graded coursework.

Please utilize the following forms to request forgiveness on a course or for multiple semesters:

  1. Repeated Course
  2. Academic Reprieve or Renewal

Please complete the attached form and it will automatically be emailed to the Office of the Registrar.
