FRESHMAN APPLICATION
Application deadline - 11:59 p.m. on February 1. 
(If the 1st falls on a weekend, the dealine is 11:59pm on the Following Monday.)
The PLUS scholarship is a comprehensive, four-year leadership education and training program, providing scholars with a support network to facilitate their success. In exchange for a full tuition waiver for up to 18 credit hours per semester and a room waiver to cover the scholar's portion of a double room in Shepler Center, scholars will be required to complete community and campus service, in addition to attending events that support their educational experience. Scholars in good standing will also will also receive a $400 stipend per semester for fall and spring during their first year in the program and $250 stipend per semester for fall and spring during their second year in the program.
Selection of Freshmen SCHOLARSHIP Recipients
To be considered for the PLUS scholarship, an applicant must:
- Be a resident of Oklahoma
 - Achieve an unweighted high school GPA of 3.0 or higher AND a minimum ACT composite score of 20.
 - Demonstrate excellence in academic, leadership, and community involvement, as well as learning potential and the desire to positively impact the Cameron community as demonstrated by the applicant's resume, essay, and three letters of reference
 
In order to be considered, an applicant must meet the criteria above and complete the following by the deadline:
- Apply for admission to Cameron University and pay the application fee. (If a student is already concurrently enrolled at Cameron University, they do not have to reapply for admissions. They can simply complete a Change of Program form that lets us know that they are intending to attending Cameron University as a first time freshman.)
 - Provide a current high school transcript, ACT/SAT scores, and any applicable college transcripts.
 - 
      Submit a
      
       scholarship application. (OPENS JANUARY 5, 2026)
 - Include the following supplemental documents/information. Additional documents may be submitted with the scholarship application or any time before the PLUS Application deadline. (Refer to instructions on the General Scholarship web page.)
 - Resume - A current resume outlining extracurricular involvement, leadership roles, and any academic or extracurricular honors received.
 - Essay - A one-page, typed essay explaining why the applicant chose to attend Cameron University and how, if selected for the PLUS Scholarship, they plan to contribute to the Cameron University community.
 - Letters of Recommendation - provide email addresses for three references - two from high school administrators or officials (e.g., teachers, counselors, coaches, or principals), and one from an individual who can speak to the applicant’s leadership potential or experience.
 
After the application deadline, a committee will review the submissions and select students for interviews. Following the interviews, the committee will recommend approximately 25 students to receive the scholarship.
