Student Worker - Distance Learning


POSITION:

The Distance Learning Office has an immediate opening for dependable students committed to learning a new skill and then performing high-quality work in a comfortable, quiet, and friendly environment. Student employees in this position will review and edit (remediate) documents to ensure university documents are accessible to all readers. Training for this position is provided and the student employee will be compensated during the training process.

Student employees will work for the Office of Distance Learning and report directly to the Distance Learning Coordinator. The initial work includes learning about document accessibility (a valuable skill to add to a resume). After learning new skills, the employee will begin testing and remediating documents and other content into accessible PDF’s in order to meet federal and state requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1.  Enrolled in at least 6 hours
  2. Has an academic record that demonstrates dependability and learner readiness
  3. Knowledge of Microsoft Suite
  4. Committed to professionalism and confidentiality

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat DC
  2. GPA of 3.0 or higher
  3. Relevant college coursework
