Student Office Assistant - College of Graduate and Professional Studies

The College of Graduate and Professional Studies at Cameron University is seeking a Student Office Assistant for the Fall 2026 semester. This position offers up to 20 hours per week, with a flexible schedule based on the student's class schedule and the needs of the office. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills and demonstrate professionalism when interacting with students, faculty, staff, and community members.

DUTIES INCLUDE

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Answering phone calls and taking or directing messages

• Greeting and assisting students, faculty, staff, and visitors

• Providing excellent customer service in person, by phone, and via email

• Preparing, filing, copying, scanning, and organizing a variety of documents

• Assisting with graduate admissions, student support, and office projects

• Maintaining electronic and paper records

• Running office-related errands on campus as needed

• Assisting with special events, workshops, recruitment activities, and other College initiatives

• Maintaining office organization and supply inventories

• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should possess:

• Good oral and written communication skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• The ability to multitask and manage competing priorities

• A positive attitude and professional demeanor

• Dependability, punctuality, and reliability

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams

• The ability to learn new processes and information quickly

• Strong customer service and telephone etiquette skills

• The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preference may be given to students with an interest in higher education administration, student services, business, communications, or related fields.
