Math Tutor

The Cameron Tutoring Center is seeking a math tutor. Hours are flexible and depend on your class schedule. Tutor may work up to 20 hours per week. Duties include working closely with students to provide both face-to-face and virtual assistance with the subject matter, keeping accurate records of tutoring sessions, maintaining files, answering the telephone, responding to emails, and scheduling. The tutor facilitates learning as a guide and coach to assist students in becoming successful, independent learners.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants are expected to have (1) Achieved at least a sophomore classification. (2) Have at least a 3.0 GPA, (3) Basic computer skills. (4) Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills. (5) Successful completion in General Level classes in that subject area.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

(1) at least a 3.5 GPA (2) knowledge of common office software such as Microsoft Word, (3) previous experience as a tutor or education majors
