STUDENT OFFICE ASSISTANT - OFFICE OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS

The Office of Public Affairs is seeking a Student Office Assistant able to work 10-20 hours per week during regular office hours (Mon-Fri between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, greeting visitors, answering and directing phone calls, taking accurate and thorough messages, assembling and delivering printed materials, updating the email and online calendar, and clipping and filing newspaper articles.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should be familiar with Microsoft Office Word and Excel spreadsheets. Applicants must have excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, ability to pick up information quickly, work required hours, and ability to work unsupervised at times. Knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and You Tube social media platforms are an asset. Also, applicant must be able to answer the phone in a clear, professional manner and adhere to a strict policy of confidentiality. The successful candidate must be punctual, reliable, and have a positive attitude. Priority will be given to students majoring in a Communications-related field.
