Graduate Council

The Graduate Council serves as the principal governing and appellate committee for all issues pertaining to graduate education at Cameron University making recommendations to the VPAA. Council functions include but are not limited to oversight of graduate curriculum; graduate faculty selection and retention; student matriculation and retention; in cooperation with the academic disciplines, strategic planning for graduate education; and appeals of grades, suspension, and dismissal. 

Membership

Faculty: All Department Chairs in departments where active graduate courses are offered and two additional faculty members from each department that offers a graduate degree (Business, Education, Psychology).

Students: Three graduate students, one from each department with a graduate program, nominated by the Dean shall be confirmed by a simple majority vote of the Graduate Council.

Administrators: Dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies chairs the Graduate Council. Additional Non-voting: Academic Affairs Coordinator, Graduate Admissions Counselor, Graduate Advisement Specialist, Registrar, Director of Admissions/Graduate Enrollment.
