Quarterly Training

State law requires all CU employees, including student employees, receive safety training at a minimum of four times a year.

Training Requirements

The object of the training is to reduce the number of accidents across the state and thus reduce the cost of Workers’ Compensation claims. The Department of Labor(DOL) states quarterly training must be “ Appropriate to the nature and severity of the hazards faced by the employee”. DOL does not set specific length of time for the training course.

All departments are responsible for documenting this training with the date, subject and the persons receiving the training. A class roster of training conducted, instructor, location, date, and personnel trained will meet the documentation requirements.
