The Cameron University Department of Art, Music and Theatre Arts will present “DODICI,” an art exhibit featuring the works of Cameron’s senior art majors. The show takes place at the Leslie Powell Gallery, 620 S.W. D Avenue. An opening reception is planned for Saturday, April 6 at 6:30 p.m. and is open to the public at no charge. Artwork on display for the exhibition, which will run through April 27, will be available for purchase.
Student artists whose work will be displayed are Joshua Mindemann, Apache; Tyler Blanchfield, Kathryn Carroll, Duncan; Sarah Enoch, El Paso, Texas; Tierra Acree, Megan Alder, Timothy Brown, Aaliyah Climes, Zach Hudson, Alexandra Patterson; Lawton; Kendall Diaz, Seminole; and Bristol Lewis, Stillwell, Kans.
They selected “DODICI,” which is Italian for “twelve,” as the show title to represent the dozen artists who will be graduating in May.
Artwork selected for the exhibition will feature a wide array of subject matter. Portraits of people, figurative narrative works, poster designs, surreal figures, illustrative fantasy works, landscapes, and abstract subject matter are all included. They have been created in a variety of media, including oil paintings, prints, watercolor paintings, sculpture, ceramic pottery, mixed media, and drawings in a wide range of media including graphite, charcoal, conte and pastel.
