The Cameron University Department of Communication, English and Foreign Languages continues the Visiting Writers Series with author Rob Roensch on Friday, March 29, at 7 p.m. in the CETES Conference Center. The event is open to the public at no charge.
Roensch is the author of “The Wild Flowers of Baltimore,” a collection of stories about young men on desperate searches. The physical searches also become spiritual quests for meaning, for understanding of how to be a man and how to live. The collection was honored with the International Scott Prize for Short Stories, which recognizes the best debut full-length collections in English.
His work has also appeared in literary publications including American Short Fiction, Epoch and Vol. 1 Brooklyn.
A native of Massachusetts and former resident of Baltimore, Roensch is an Assistant Professor of English and Clary Endowed Chair of Creative Writing at Oklahoma City University, where he teaches composition, fiction writing and creative nonfiction.
