As part of a statewide initiative, Cameron University will host a special enrollment session from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, in the lobby of Cynthia S. Ross Hall.
Oklahomans who have successfully completed some college coursework, but have not yet finished a college degree, will have the unique opportunity to submit college admission applications, receive academic advisement, obtain financial aid counseling, and enroll in college classes with support from knowledgeable staff members during Cameron’s Reach Higher: RECONNECT Week event.
At the Saturday enrollment event, employees from the Office of Admissions and the Academic Advising Center will be available to help students get admitted and enrolled for fall classes. Students can also receive information about financial aid options from staff members of the Office of Financial Assistance Services. The Kiowa Tribe and Comanche Nation have partnered with Cameron University to sponsor this event and will have representatives in attendance to assist Native American students. Attendees should bring copies of their high school and college transcripts to enroll.
“Cameron University is excited to offer this opportunity to our community” said Dr. Krystal Brue, chair of the Department of Business. “The RECONNECT event will allow those with previous college credits to learn how they can complete their degrees and further their career advancement.”
Cameron will also be open until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, in the lobby of Cynthia S. Ross Hall to assist students who can’t visit campus during regular business hours. Representatives will be available to assist with admissions, advisement, enrollment, and financial aid.
Reach Higher: RECONNECT Week is a series of coordinated student recruitment events to be held July 27-Aug. 1 at participating Reach Higher campuses across the state. The primary goal is to increase awareness of the adult-friendly degree completion options available through the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education’s Reach Higher initiative and encourage adults who have earned some college credit to successfully complete their degrees.
Reach Higher provides two distinct degree completion program strands for adult learners. Reach Higher: FlexFinish offers flexible enrollment and online options to working adults who wish to pursue an associate degree in enterprise development or a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership at one of 21 participating colleges and universities in Oklahoma. Reach Higher: DirectComplete offers adult students the opportunity to complete a degree program connected with workforce development needs that align with Oklahoma’s 100 Critical Occupations list with a focus on filling positions in the nursing, engineering, computer technology, accounting, and teaching career fields.
Cameron University is located at 2800 W. Gore Blvd. This event is free and open to the public. Snacks, water, and RECONNECT swag items will be available at no charge. Attendees are encouraged to use the parking lot located immediately west of Cynthia S. Ross Hall.
